About Us

Goals

The Ph.D. course aims to develop the necessary skills, as well as solid methodological basis, to carry out high quality research work at national and international level in accounting, management and business economics within public administrations, companies and others public or private bodies. Among others, the Ph.D. program focuses on the following research areas: financial reporting, managerial accounting, corporate governance, accounting for public interest and society, accounting history, healthcare management, management of innovation, operations management, financial networks and risk modelling, economics of innovation. At the end of the Ph.D. course each student will be able to autonomously generate and develop research projects with a solid methodological approach. Students will be able to use the main software for qualitative and quantitative analysis and produce national and international scientific publication of high value. Faculty Committee of the program is composed of Italian and foreign renowned researchers, who have published in international peer-reviewed journals ranked 2, 3, 4 and 4* by the Chartered Association of Business Schools’ Academic Journal Guide 2015.

Student Involvement

Ph.D. students obtain a fundamental understanding of contemporary advances in accounting, management, business economics and related disciplines as well as of appropriate research methods. Courses are scheduled mainly in the first two years of the program. The Department of Economia Aziendale sponsors also a variety of seminars for the presentation and discussion of current research in Accounting, Management and Business Economics. These seminars play a pivotal role in the Ph.D. program, and students at all stages of the program are encouraged to participate. Speakers include Italian and foreign renowned researches. Ph.D. students spend a period of study abroad and obtain a further mobility allowance. At the end of the Ph.D. program each student must write and defend a Ph.D. dissertation.
